Carrie has extensive counselling experience working with individuals, couples and families. She is committed to helping couples learn how to foster healthy relationships, prepare for marriage, overcome marital crises such as incompatibility, hostile communication patterns, family and in-law conflicts, navigate difficult transitions like extra-marital recovery, separation, co-parenting or grief work over lost pregnancy or death of a spouse. She also works with parents with their young adult children.
Her primary therapeutic approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which has strong attachment theory and family systems foundations. Her work focuses on uncovering the working models that shapes internal thoughts, feelings and behaviour and how it impacts relational dynamics.
In addition, as a certified human behaviour analyst client’s awareness is deepened in their personal behavioural traits and interpersonal skills. Where relevant, Carrie includes multicultural counselling for cross cultural couples, faith-based counselling, and trauma informed interventions for clients with mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.
For 30 years, Carrie has dedicated herself to reconcile marriages and supporting families. She believes that human beings are meant for relationships and every person needs a relationship to thrive in life. This ability to foster healthy relationships is a ‘gift’ that you can cultivate in yourself and offer to a significant other. If you hold a growth mindset, there is always hope for renewal of the mind, heart, body, soul and relationships.
